Science and technology create future value. Low carbon creates a win-win situation by introducing a thick green background and integrating into the trend. On November 22, the publication of Saideli Fashion Fabric Trends at 2024 World Fashion Conference opened in Humen, Dongguan, focusing on the theme of "low carbon technology", and opened an in-depth discussion and frontier exploration on fashion, green and the future.
This release brought together Yan Yan, Vice President of China Textile Industry Federation, Dai Shanshan, Fiber Director of Global Bulk Commodities Asia Pacific Region of S&P, Gregory Pessey, General Manager of Jonathan&Fletcher, France, Jiang Jianguo, Downstream Market Development Manager of Saideli Group, Li Yunjun, Product Development Director of Shantou Longfeng Printing and Dyeing Co., Ltd., Zhou Shuang, Assistant Professor of Fashion and Textile College of Hong Kong Polytechnic University Chen Baishun, the scientific research and technical director of Bosiden Group, Zhong Zhangwei, the marketing director of Beijiang Zhilian Textile Co., Ltd., and many other industry leaders and elites gathered together, and held brilliant in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics such as green design, green processing, and low-carbon consumption of fashionable low-carbon fabrics in the textile and clothing field.
In this release activity of concept collision and technology integration, the four frontier developments are presented one by one.
   01
   Dynamic I:
Environmentally friendly materials contribute to sustainable fashion
As of September 2023, more than 150 countries in the world have made carbon neutral commitments, covering more than 80% of global carbon dioxide emissions, GDP and population. In the journey of exploring sustainable fashion, Jiang Jianguo, the downstream market development manager of Saideli Group, revealed a remarkable achievement for us. Through a series of carefully designed carbon emission reduction links, Sedley Lyocell fiber successfully reduced its carbon emissions to 1.83 tons, which is far lower than many textile fibers, demonstrating its outstanding contribution in the field of environmental protection. Compared with ordinary Lyocell fiber, Saideli products have achieved 73% carbon emission reduction, setting a new benchmark for green production in the fashion industry.
Chen Baishun, director of scientific research and technology of Bosiden Group, further elaborated the profound connotation of "sustainable fashion". He emphasized that in order to practice the new development concept, enterprises should closely combine environmental, social and economic values, and strive to minimize the negative impact on the environment and society in the whole life cycle of products. Bosiden Group is a dedicated practitioner of this concept.
Take Bosiden's puff series recyclable lightweight down jacket as an example, this product not only has originality in design, but also has achieved a breakthrough in the application of environmentally friendly materials. The fabric, lining and zipper are made of environment-friendly recycled nylon or polyester materials, which greatly simplifies the sorting process of different materials in the recycling process. By canceling the side seam design and combining the efficient technology of "ultrasonic cutting for down jacket transmission - wind separation", the collection of down and fabric becomes easy, thus greatly reducing the recovery cost, resource consumption and carbon emissions. In addition, the puff series also uses GORE-TEX fluorine free waterproof fabric, which is a high-tech material to improve the fabric strength and toughness, optimize the wearing experience in rainy days, while effectively avoiding the negative impact of traditional fabric coating on the environment. This series of innovative practices not only demonstrate Bosiden's persistent pursuit of sustainable fashion, but also set a model of green transformation for the whole fashion industry.
   02
   Dynamic II:
Regenerated fiber is widely used in head brands
Under the background of global green and low-carbon, the proportion of recycled fibers in the global total fiber volume is increasing year by year. Dai Shanshan, fiber director of global bulk commodity Asia Pacific region of S&P, said that synthetic fiber now occupies the leading position in the fiber market, and the compound growth rate of polyester fiber market demand is expected to reach 3.8% in the next decade. In 2023, the annual output of recycled polyester fiber in China will reach 5 million tons, accounting for 9% of the total output of polyester fiber in China, and will continue to grow in the future; However, 24% of the total polyester fiber output in North America uses recycled raw materials, which is still a gap. Chinese enterprises still have room for development in the field of renewable fibers.
As a regenerated cellulose fiber, Lyocell fiber has better environmental protection properties than cotton fiber and viscose fiber. Jiang Jianguo said that in 2024, the demand for Lyocell fiber in textile will be 445000 tons, which is 5% of the total domestic cotton consumption; Strive to reach 1.6 million tons of textile demand by 2030, accounting for 18% of the total cotton consumption. The market development of Lyocell fiber has also achieved gratifying results. A large number of Lyocell series products have been launched by terminal brands, such as Anta, BALA, Taipingniao, Boyang Home Textile and other leading brands in various fields have been listed in Lyocell terminal products.
   03
   Dynamic III:
Regenerated fiber needs to face the advantages and problems
In addition to environmental protection, regenerated cellulose fiber also shows strong advantages in wearability. Jiang Jianguo said that Lyocell fiber combines the comfort of cotton, the strength of polyester, the soft and draping style of silk, and the inherent skin friendly breathability of cellulose fiber. At the same time, Lyocell can be combined with cotton, viscose, polyester, acrylic and other fibers to give products higher added value.
The traditional Lyocell fiber is widely used in the tight spinning process. Recently, vortex spinning, ordinary ring spinning, compact spinning, Sailo spinning and rotor spinning processes have also made breakthroughs in Lyocell's spinning, and show a rapid upward trend, showing more yarn categories, greatly expanding the downstream application space.
However, the typical problems of Lyocell fiber still need attention. Li Yunjun, the product development director of Shantou Longfeng Printing and Dyeing Co., Ltd., introduced the detailed methods to solve the problem of Lyocell fiber fibrillation. The use of one bath fiber locking agent in the dyeing of Lyocell fiber fabrics can effectively improve the phenomenon of whitening, fuzzing and fuzzing balls caused by surface fiber fibrillation, It is of great significance for factory production and consumers in the process of taking. Among them, attention should be paid to adjusting the dye vat and reducing the friction and impact in the vat when dyeing with fiber locking agent; The amount of fiber locking agent should be based on the total content of Lyocell fiber and other cellulose; Pay attention to control the bursting strength of the fabric during wool feeding; Improve the one-time success rate, avoid or reduce the chance of stripping color after repair; The use of fiber locking agent has a slight effect on the color depth; Even in white and light colors, fiber locking agent should be used to improve the fuzzing and pilling of the fabric.

   Dynamic IV:
Environmentally friendly materials contribute to sustainable fashion
When it comes to fashionable green fabrics, jeans were once regarded as a typical example of the opposite. But at the meeting, Zhong Zhangwei, the marketing director of Beijiang Zhilian Textile Co., Ltd., led the guests to explore the mystery of smart green jeans. At the input end, Beijiang Zhilian adheres to the concept of sustainable development, uses a large number of renewable and biodegradable environmental protection raw materials in every link of product development, production and sales, and actively introduces renewable energy to lay a solid foundation for green production.
In the production process, Beijiang Zhilian is more innovative, adopting a series of cutting-edge environmentally friendly dyeing processes and efficient equipment, aiming to significantly reduce the consumption of water resources and chemicals in indigo dyeing and finishing. This measure not only improves production efficiency, but also reduces the burden on the environment at the source.
In the output link, the company also spared no effort. By installing advanced sewage treatment facilities and reclaimed water reuse system, all discharges are ensured to comply with national environmental protection standards, and waste water is turned into treasure and reused resources, further reducing resource consumption and realizing green cycle.
It is worth mentioning that Beijiang Zhilian has provided a unique environment-friendly recycled fabric for Lilang Chinese White Dolphin Marine Environmental Protection Public Welfare Series in the spring and summer of 2022. This kind of denim fabric takes its reborn indigo yarn as its soul. In the process of interweaving with other fibers, the blue color of the yarn naturally collides with a mottled and layered blue tone. Without additional dyeing, it presents a unique fashion charm.
In the process of garment production, this kind of fabric is even more brilliant. It not only reduces the use of raw cotton by 50%, but also dramatically reduces the use of chemical dyes and water by 90%, making fashion no longer a relentless consumption of resources, but a green and sustainable lifestyle. Beijiang Zhilian weaves a new chapter of green jeans in the name of science and technology, allowing fashion and environmental protection to go hand in hand to create a better future.
